We meet at 7:30 pm on every 4th Monday at Macomb City Hall Community Room
What is the McDonough County Democratic Coalition (MCDC) ? The Central Committee is limited to elected precinct committeemen. In the 1980s, local democrats formed the Democratic Coalition and registered it as a State PAC to allow all local Democrats to be more active in the party. MCDC by-laws state its purposes:
Candidates: Assist the McDonough County Democratic Central Committee in identifying and supporting candidates for elected office, with emphasis on fostering a vigorous Democratic Party in McDonough County.
Awareness: Raise awareness of local issues and political contests with the goal of improving city and county governmental services.
Fund Raising: Raise funds in support of selected candidates.
Lobbying: Lobby in support for or opposition to pending or existing legislation which affects McDonough County and Illinois.
Voting: Encourage voter registration and participation. Annual MCDC dues are $15 for one person or $25 for a family.
ALL local Democrats are invited to join the Coalition which meets at 7 pm on the fourth Monday of each month in the Macomb City Hall Community Room, right after the Central Committee meeting - which coalition members are also welcome to attend.
The Central Committee and the Coalition are truly partners and cooperate on all of our local events. The two organizations share a post office box at P.O. Box 695, Macomb, IL 61455, and campaign headquarters during elections. The Central Committee meets at 6:30pm on the 4th Monday of the month at the Macomb City Hall Community Room, and the Coalition meets directly afterwards at 7:30pm Officers:
